2-Day Workshop:  Saturday July 12th (10am - 3pm ) and Saturday July 19th (10am - 2pm)

Location: Manifold, located at 4426 N Ravenswood Ave in Chicago, IL

Design and build your own Parsons table base.  In this 2-day workshop, each student will fabricate a table base from 1.5" square steel tubing.  The class builds upon skills learned in the beginning MIG welding classes.  If you have previous MIG welding knowledge, this class will give you a chance to technically hone your skills.   

We will concentrate on honing fabrication skills including table design, layout, jigs, weld prep, welding technique, minimizing distortion, and weld finishing (grinding and sanding). Each student will be given 20' of steel tubing from which to build a table, with a choice of either the small dining table, console table, coffee table, or side table.

Table base dimensions by type:

 Small dining table: 34"W x 28"D x 29.5"H

 Console table: 48"W x 11"D x 32"H 

 Coffee table: 48"W x 20"D x 17"H

 Side table: 20"W x 20"D x 24"H 

Successful completion of the Beginning Welding: MIG class or the Intro to MIG: Sculpture class is required to participate in this Intermediate Welding: Parsons Table Base class.  If you have previous MIG welding knowledge from another school and would like to hone your skills with this workshop, please contact us.
